Expanded Learning
The Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P) provides after-school, before-school, intersession, and summer school enrichment programs for transitional kindergarten through sixth grade. Caliber’s Expanded Learning programs focus on developing the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs and interests of pupils through hands-on, engaging learning experiences. Our Expanded Learning Programs are pupil-centered, results-driven, include community partners, and complement, but do not replicate, learning activities in the regular school day and school year.
Vision
Caliber’s Expanded Learning Opportunity Program vision is that all youth experience a range of quality after-school, summer, and other expanded learning opportunities that promote their intellectual, creative, and healthy development.

Q: Who are ELOP programs offered to and how do I know if my child qualifies?
A: ELOP program is offered to all families at no charge and therefore, following the state mandate, we must enroll students in the following priority order:
Priority 1: Foster and/or unhoused youth
Priority 2: English learners
Priority 3: Qualify for free/reduced-price school meals
Priority 4: TK-6th grade students (7th & 8th grade students will be considered case-by-case)
Note: If the number of interested applicants exceeds capacity, families will be placed on the waitlist based on the priorities above.
Q: What if my child does not meet the priority criteria?
A: Families are still encouraged to apply for ELOP programs.
Once all students who meet the ELOP priority criteria are given an opportunity to register, any remaining spots will be offered to families who do not fall under any priority enrollment categories.
All families should consider alternative plans for care should there not be available space for your student.
Q: I was told that my child does not qualify for priority enrollment, but I believe they qualify. What should I do?
A: If you believe you qualify for free or reduced lunch, see if you qualify here and apply here.
Q: Why am I on the waitlist?
A: Caliber’s ELOP programs are in very high demand, therefore, we cannot offer a space for every student who applies. The Expanded Learning team will closely monitor the waitlist and will continue to offer spaces as they become available.
Q: Can I enroll my child who does not qualify for priority enrollment for a fee?
A: No. We are currently not taking any payments for ELOP programs.
Q: Who do I contact with additional questions?
A: Please email Caliber’s Expanded Learning team at expandedlearning@caliberschools.org
